Kent established this business after being involved in the world of nutrition, exercise and bodybuilding for more than 30 years. He first began his love affair with fitness and weight training as a scrawny teenager who started lifting weights in his dad's garage and reading bodybuilding magazines. He immersed himself into that world and began changing his whole attitude on fitness and living healthy. He fell in love with bodybuilding and all it had to offer. He began competing in the sport of bodybuilding and entered his first local competition in 1983. He won the Kentucky Bodybuilding championships in 1986. He went on to compete nationally for 9 years. He also judged bodybuilding as a state and national judge. He was the KY state national physique committee chairman (NPC) for more than 15 years. At the age of 45 he went back to college and obtained his Bachelors' in Health & Human Performance, Masters in Exercise Physiology and a PhD. in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science. He currently teaches Exercise Physiology, Nutrition for Athletic performance, Kinesiology, and Strength & Conditioning at Bellarmine University as an Associate Professor. He is a member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He is also a member of the American College Sports Medicine. He has authored & co-authored more than 34 peer reviewed articles and abstracts about health and wellness in national journals.
At the Age of 60 (SEE BEFORE & AFTER PICS) Kent decided to return to the Bodybuilding stage and trained and competed in the NPC Masters championship, placing 5th in the nation in his age class. Kent speaks regularly at National conferences, colleges and local high schools about the benefits of strength training at any age, physical fitness, wellness, nutrition and risks of childhood and adult obesity.
